Why is this important?

The number of inpatient hospitalizations in the district helps describe health care utilization patterns and burden of disease. Understanding demographic and geographic differences in patients being admitted and discharged from the hospitals allows targeted treatments and interventions of specific conditions as well as identification of potential areas for improved prevention strategies.
