This indicator shows the percentage of high school students who had sexual intercourse with four or more persons during their life.

Why is this important?

Sexual activity among teens can bring with it serious consequences.  Teens who have multiple sexual partners are at greater risk of unintended pregnancy, emotional stress, and acquiring a sexually transmitted infection (STI) such as HIV, gonorrhea, and chlamydia.
